Qualia Journal celebrates one year of continuous entries.

I started writing this blog on 29th October, 2004.

There were 11 entries in the year 2004, 44 in 2005, 29 in 2006, 68 in 2007, 11 in 2008.

The statistics indicate that my entry into the journal was rather random and sparse for the first 5 years.
Then, on 6th June 2009, I made a resolution.

I thought that I would keep the diary continuously, without any breaks, from that day.

Today, The Qualia Journal celebrates one year of continuous entry. Some of the entries have been short, some of them fairly extensive, some written in my native town of Tokyo, some abroad, most of them typed down in the morning (local time), some on the airplane, but here, it seems that I have successfully kept my resolution.

Hooray!

My deep felt thanks for all readers of this humble blog. In particular, I am grateful for those who have left a comment on my entry. Some of them have had the generosity to come back repeatedly to my blog, and left several comments. I enjoy reading the comments, and have learned a lot from them.

So here I make yet another resolution, to keep The Qualia Journal every day indefinitely. May your days be happy, and let us hope that this tiny celebration of the emerging global culture might be sustained in the years to come.

Congratulations!
Reading your daily blog entry for me became a ritual like reading newspaper (which I don't if there is no time, but always reading Qualia Journal!).
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and contemplations with your readers!

Dear Mogi sensei,

Congratulations on the one year anniversary of your English blog!

And like other readers, I am truly grateful to you for your effort.

Since I have sometimes been posting comments here, your blog has now become like my own diary. (I hope you don't mind it.)

A fews days ago you said that you would wish to get connected to people from as different background as possible, but as for me, I feel I have alway been seeking people who I could share the same sence of value with, and it is not always that easy to come to get to know a person like that. So I am happy to have found you!

I know this is my selfish one way understanding of you, but I will try to post comments which "might" be able to inspire you or other readers, ohterwise please excuse me for expressing my own thoughts and chattering from time to time.

I always read this blog in the train from my cram school.
I am still being afflicted by its profoundness, but maybe my English skills are continuing to improve, because I am reading your blog ever more pleasurably. I think it's like your experience during your high school days, written in your books.

Thanks to my iphone and google RSS reader application, I have never failed to read through your journal recently.
So, I will continue to read it, and hope for new entries for many years to come.

Congratulations! I have not read all your posts but am curious how you are coming along with your other goal: "My mission is to solve the so-called mind-brain problem. I would like to understand how our consciousness full of qualia arise from the billions of firing neurons in the brain." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mind%E2%80%93body_dichotomy

p.s.
Dr. Mogi:

Like Ms/Mr. Anonymous, I am awaiting to hear about a solution of so-called mind-brain problem from you very much.
I have been working on my study and have often thought about translation. Interestingly (or naturally), some English terms have no Japanese and vice versa. I really want to depict the word “caring” in Japanese but we have no such concept which can be expressed by just one word, right? I think the meaning of “caring” includes somehow a mind-brain issue .. (Am I incorrect?)
Also I need to translate the word “amae” into English but the English peoples have no such concept Dr. Doi states. This Japanese term “amae” includes mind-brain issue as well .. ?
