Bookworm

When I was a kid I used to be a bookworm. When I am really absorbed in reading, I become one with the book. On one memorable afternoon, I read four thick books in a row, after borrowing them from the library.

One of my favorite pastimes is to lay myself on the sofa, and keep reading the books, preferably on a lazy summer afternoon. As I am too much occupied nowadays, I cannot indulge myself in this sweet marriage with the imagined and fictional, much to my regret.

My favorite pastime is to pick up a book with closing my eyes in the library. Then I flip over the pages of the book on the sofa. If i like it, start reading. It is a new encounter.

We sometimes hear it is more important for children playing outside than reading books. This remark is not exactly applicable to me. My mother decided to buy some illustrated books because my sister and I persistently asked her the names of creatures found outside. Most of girls tried to apply their feelings to ones in books of poems and songs when they fell or failed in love. I don't think it is wrong to read for fixing experiences.

Today's Japanese essay " Coal " is interesting. I understand why " Golden Buddha" and " Golden Bat " are gold !

All schools, all colleges, comprise two gargantuan functions: to bestow on, and to conceal, valuable knowledge. The theological knowledge which they keep quiet about cannot justly be regarded as less valuable than that which they reveal. That is, when a servant is buying a basket of strawberries it can profit him to recognize that the rump half of it is rotten.
